In English - how it works

Starts end of March and runs to the end of the year - all checkpoints can be visited until December 31!

We have placed a lot of checkpoints all around Göteborg. The idea is to find checkpoints with the help of a physical map and/or GPS. You can also use your mobile or the map on this website. All maps, including the physical maps, are for free!

We want more people to accept the challenge to move about and discover our breathtaking nature.

Any questions? Contact us at goteborg@hittaut.nu

THE MAP AND CHECKPOINTS

On the map there are checkpoints with color-codes explaining the difficulty.

  • Green = easy (accessible with bike, pram or wheelchair)

  • Blue = medium

  • Red = medium to difficult

  • Black = difficult

HERE YOU CAN GET THE MAP

Presently we have two physical maps.

  • One big map covering Göteborg South&West including the magnificent forest area Ängårdsbergen and the area just north of Göta Älv river
  • For the first time there are CheckPoints out in the beautiful archipelago - the archipelago has its own map.

Pick up your free copy of any of the maps from any of the places listed here: https://www.orientering.se/provapaaktiviteter/hittaut/goteborg/har-finns-kartan/

When it comes to the Gothenburg archipelago map, it is the same pick-up points as for the regular map. The archipelago map is also available at Gothenburg archipelago's InfoPoints. You can find InfoPoints here.

If you prefer to use the app you need to download it from Google Play or App Store. The app is called hittaut.

REGISTER YOUR CHECKPOINTS ONLINE

When you have found your first checkpoint, or even before you start, you can register the code here on hittaut.nu/. Every checkpoint you register (with the letter-code) on the homepage or through the app, becomes a lottery ticket and you can win prizes. It's valuable for the project that you register, since both we and our sponsors want to know how many checkpoint finders we are :)

The hitta ut "pole"

At every checkpoint there is a one meter high "hittaut"-pole

On the pole there are Hittaut-decals, the checkpoint-number and the code. Note the code (a letter) and register it on the homepage. There are also reflexes on the pole, so you will be able to find your checkpoint even in the dark.
